I can explain the goal of deaf education:
The goal of deaf education is to educate deaf people to the fullest extent that a hearing person can be educated to as well.
I can list three main goals parents and educators have for deaf children:
. To be educated like any other student
. To be challenged like any other student
. To have the same opportunities as every student

As we look at the text it notes that the parents' main goals are indeed to have the opportunity to be academically prepared - educated like other students. But, two specific keys to their goals are about communication and socialization. These are very important. They want to ensure that their child can communicate with them and others and that they will be able to make friends and have meaningful relationships with others!
